About Rob

Rob Price has been a long-time servant to our community through his involvement in both city government and civic organizations. He brings a strong background in public policy, science, and civic understanding to city council.

Rob has served on Dunwoody City Council since 2021 after serving for four years on the Dunwoody Planning Commission. While on the Planning Commission he completed the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Training for Planning Officials program. While a member of City Council has a regularly attended training classes conducted by the Georgia Municipal Association and the Carl Vinson School of Government. He is also a graduate of the Dunwoody Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy.

Rob serves as the Council’s representative to the One Region Initiative – a regional organization that works to integrate immigrants and refugees into our communities. He is the Council liaison to the city’s Sustainability Committee where he supports and facilitates initiatives to improve the efficiency of city operations and reduce their environmental impacts. He represents Dunwoody at Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and DeKalb Municipal Association meetings and in 2024 he received a Certificate of Recognition from GMA. 

Rob earned bachelor’s degrees in Zoology and History from Miami University, and Master of Public Affairs and Master of Science in Environmental Science degrees from Indiana University. He currently works as the Director of Development for a Dunwoody-based nonprofit, the Alliance for International Reforestation, a role he has held for the past 5 years. Prior to that he worked in environmental consulting for 20 years supporting private and governmental clients and 5 years in state government with the Ohio EPA.

Rob serves on the board of Create Dunwoody, a local nonprofit that promotes arts and culture as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth. He is a member and ordained elder of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church where he serves on their Outreach committee.  

In 2019 Rob helped set up and operate a new Dunwoody food pantry location with the Community Assistance Center. He served as the sole volunteer operating the Dunwoody pantry during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic and then worked a short-term position to provide management assistance to all pantry operations during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
